Hey there, I’m Laura Adkins. I’m an oboist and composer living and working in Chicago.

I am a freelance oboist and teacher, an entrepreneur, a makeshift marketing expert and event planner. I love music, and sharing music with others. I want each and every audience I encounter to feel comfortable and have a great time. I love to share new ideas with new people, and remake old ideas with old friends. I love collaborating with other artists, musicians or otherwise.

I completed both my bachelor’s and master’s at DePaul University, and since then, have been freelancing in and around Chicago. I’ve played at The Athenaeum, Millennium Park, The Green Mill, and a ton of other small storefront venues, coffee shops, and hidden gems around the city. I’ve performed in Canada, Mexico, Germany, Spain, and the UK. One of my bucket-list items is to perform on all seven continents.
